After the glitz and glamor in Miami, Formula 1 is back in Europe. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is familiar territory for the drivers and teams. The Spanish circuit has been raced for many years and many winter tests have taken place here, including the shakedown test in 2022. The races have not always been spectacular in the past as overtaking is not easy. The new regulations for 2022 may provide more spectacle. The Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will take place on Sunday 22nd May 2022. The race starts at 3:00 p.m. There is no time difference to the Spanish metropolis.
The Spanish GP has been held at the circuit near Barcelona since 1991. In recent years, Lewis Hamilton has dominated with five straight wins. Dutch Formula 1 fans will remember the track of Max Verstappen’s first Formula 1 victory in 2016.

The Spanish Grand Prix preview begins at 2 p.m. Presenter Amber Brantsen joins a host of experts in the studio to provide an outlook on the race and review key moments from the weekend. Pit reporter Stephane Kox gives interviews on site and informs the spectators about news.
The Formula 1 races are commented on by Nelson Valkenburg and Melroy Heemskerk. They will be supported on site by Stephane Kox. After the race there is a detailed commentary with national and international experts. The protagonists are also asked about their race, naturally with a special focus on Max Verstappen.

Formula 1 will no longer be shown live via Ziggo from 2022. Viaplay will hold the rights until the end of 2024. Ziggo has obtained the rights to broadcast summaries of the races. The highlights of the Spanish Grand Prix can be seen from 7.30 p.m. The program lasts about ten minutes and is commented on by Olav Mol. In the evening, the race will be reviewed in detail in the Race Café program by presenter Rob Kamphues, regular analyst Robert Doornbos and some diners.
Ziggo customers can watch the F1 recap on Channel 14 for free. If you’ve taken out a Ziggo Sport Total package, you can watch it through the Select channel.
Formula 1 at the NOS

The NOS has the rights to broadcast the summary of Formula 1 races from 2022. A detailed summary can be seen on Sunday afternoon from 5 p.m. Former Formula 1 driver Jan Lammers sheds light on what is happening as an analyst. The program lasts half an hour and is repeated at 11:55 p.m.
