At the last race in Spain, Ferrari recorded the fastest pit stop of the race for the first time. The tire change in 2.23 seconds was also the fastest stop of the season so far. However, at the Monaco Grand Prix, the Scuderia pit crew were unable to keep up with some of their rivals as Carlos Sainz’s pit stop on lap 21 gave the team fifth place in the list of the day’s fastest pit stops. The tire change from full rain to hard slicks was done in 2.51 seconds.
Ferrari were 0.21 seconds off the fastest pit stop of the day. It was completed for the third time this season by Red Bull Racing, who took 2.3 seconds to provide Sergio Perez with a set of intermediates on Lap 16. That put Red Bull 0.08s quicker than McLaren, giving Lando Norris a new set of intermediates on lap 17 in 2.38s. Third on the list is Alpine, who overtook Fernando Alonso’s pit stop by 2.42 seconds on lap 21. In fourth place is Aston Martin, who missed a new set of tires on lap 6 in 2.51 seconds for Sebastian Vettel.
McLaren still leads the rankings for the Fastest Pitstop Award, also because the fastest pit stops were made in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Imola. The British racing team is on 190 points, four points ahead of Red Bull. Ferrari follows in third place, but is already far behind with 113 points. Alpine (59 points) and Williams (43 points) complete the top five.
